Matt grew up in Parksville, BC, on Vancouver Island. He studied psychology and ethics during his undergraduate degree, and went on to complete a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology. After completing his graduate degree from the University of Victoria, Matt began working for Pacific Centre Family Services, and also served as the primary counsellor for the Esquimalt Nation Reserve.
Eventually, Matt transitioned into a full time private practice. He is trained in various trauma-related modalities, including emotion focused therapy, the internal family systems model, and EMDR. The bulk of his experience is in working with individuals who are experiencing issues related to purpose and meaning, self-exploration, trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, perfectionism, and self-growth.
